Seven Month Milestones

Hi Folks!

Zachary is now ten months old, seven months old, corrected age (based off his due date, not his actual birth date). He will have his corrected age until he is two.

Here are some of the milestones for a seven month old baby (Zachary's progress is in blue).

*Bear weight on his legs when you hold him upright. - Yes, he can!
*Sit without support. - Yes, he can!
*Stand while holding onto someone or something. - Yes, he can! He loves standing up. He was leaning against the couch with his head yesterday. He's so cute!
*Pull himself up to a standing position from a seated one. - Nope, not yet.
*Walk by holding on to furniture. - Nope, not yet.
*He babbles. - Yes, he can, a lot!
*He plays peekaboo. - Yes, he can! On Christmas he loved playing peek-a-boo with the tissue paper (after putting it on his head.). Such a funny guy!
*He plays patty-cake. - Somewhat, although he hasn't quite grasped the open hand concept. Uncle Mike has been working with him on this every time he sees him.
*He waves. - Yes, he can, although he plays the piano with the same type of movement. It might not quite be a wave.
*He can say "mama" or "dada." -
Yes, he can and does!

He can also roll around, find his feet, grasp objects, move toys from one hand to another, hold a toy in each hand and bring one up to his mouth, stick his tongue out, giggle, blow raspberries on Mommy and Daddy's shoulder, open his mouth when we bring the spoon towards his mouth when feeding him baby food, grab for his bottle, reach out to us when he wants to be held, reach out to others, respond to a couple of sign language cues like "up".

We are so proud of our little man! Pictures from Christmas and Hanukkah are coming.

Prayers Needed for Kayleigh and her Family

Please say a little prayer for Kayleigh, a brave little girl that the world may never get to meet in person, although so many have been touched by her fighting spirit. Kayleigh's folks, Adam and Aimee, reached out to me when Kayleigh was first born. Kayleigh's mom and I have similar stories regarding our pregnancy and the early days of the NICU. There are so many good positive messages from Kayleigh's blog and Kayleigh has already made her mark in the world, even from the NICU in North Carolina. Unfortunately, Kayleigh is not expected to live much longer and her family is in agony and trying to cram a lifetime of moments into the precious few they have left with her.

I am saying prayers for Kayleigh and her parents and ask you to do the same.

Love to all.

Hi Folks!

Here are a couple of pictures of Zachary sitting up on his own (unsupported)! He's such a big strong boy, who is musically inclined, we might add.

Enjoy!

Our Trip to Cali - Part Two!

Hi Folks!

One of the things we did while in Cali was spend time with Kim's brothers, their wives, Cousin Aveline and lots of aunts, uncles and cousins. On the Saturday that we were there, Zachary got to meet his Great, Great Aunt Evelyn, Aunt Sharon, Uncle Arnie, Cousins Nancy and her son Ben. Nancy and Kim had a great time admiring each other's sons. Aunt Sharon and Uncle Arnie were so excited to meet Zachary in person, although they felt like they already knew him from reading this blog (which made Mommy and Daddy feel good).

Here are the pictures from when we all got together!
