The Baldwins have a new home!

Hi folks!

Well, last Friday we closed on the new house! We are so excited! While we have already begun moving some stuff in, we won't "officially" move in until October 10th. We are getting some of the big things taken care of like having our new refrigerator delivered, getting estimates for window treatments (we're going with white 2" faux wood blinds in most of the windows) and Stephen is going to paint Zachary's nursery and seal the granite and the grout of the tiles so our new house will stay looking new as long as possible! Thanks to Grandma Marla for all the help!

Zachary is doing fabulous! He was with us when we closed and with us while we shopped around for the new fridge and he just takes it all in stride. We are so blessed with the sweetest baby boy with the best disposition! He has an appointment to check on his eyes on Thursday and we are waiting to hear from his pediatrician to find out when he gets his Synergis (a RSV vaccine) and flu shot.

Over the weekend we visited our friends at Women's Hospital, both Kim's and Zachary's nurses and Zachary's doctor, Dr. Thompson. It was so great to see them all, we have pictures to post and will get those up here soon!

Oh! We booked our flights for our TWO trips to Cali in November. We'll be out for Kim's brother Paul and Devin's wedding when we OFFICIALLY add Devin to the family (she's already such a big part of it though) and then again for Thanksgiving. We are looking forward to letting all of you in Cali meet our big boy!

We have to say thanks to Kim's brother Jeff for getting the web cam all set up at the gathering after Grandma's funeral so many of Kim's family got to see Zachary and so Kim could see her family. It was hard for her to be here and that really helped!

Here are some recent pictures taken with Kim's cell phone...we have lots more on the camera, but we have to save some for later!

At Don Pico's waiting for queso (not really)!

Doesn't she though?

He's getting so good at holding his head up!

That's about all that's new. Love to all!

The Baldwins are Back in Town

Hi Folks!

As you can imagine, we've had a busy week with the mandatory evacuation, driving three hours with two cats, Zachary's gear and the three of us to and from the country, visiting with family, and returning to a city in chaos. We are very lucky. We now have both power and water. Our current house did not sustain much damage, a broken window, some water inside the place and a lot of tree limbs, but nothing like the damage sustained by others. Thankfully we postponed closing on the new house, which only had a damaged fence from the hurricane. Kim's office only had minor damage and she returns to work when it reopens this week.

Now that you've had the updates on the hurricane, here's what you want to read, updates (and lots of pictures) of Zachary. Zachary is twelve pounds, two ounces and has had his first bout of a tummy virus. Thankfully he doesn't seem to mind it and he seems to be getting much better! We tried feeding him rice cereal with a spoon and overall it went pretty well. Zachary got to go fishing and ride a horse (named Tiger) while we were at James and Crystal's house in the country. We appreciate James and Crystal so much for taking the three of us, plus Stephen's brother John, his wife, two children and mother-in-law. It was a full house, but we made it work. Crystal and Kim ran the kitchen and got some practice in cooking for nine people! Anyway, enough chatter, here are the pictures you have been waiting for!

The first time being spoon-fed.

He's not so sure if he likes rice cereal.

Yes, some made it into his mouth.

Zachary is not a fan of catfish.
Good job Ashton, that's a big fish!

This is the first fish Ashton has ever caught.
And it's a big one!

Some sad news, Kim's (paternal) Grandma Ann passed away yesterday. Grandma Ann lived a long (95 years) and full life. While we wish that she had been able to meet her youngest great-grandson, we are grateful that she is not suffering any more. Kim is unable to go home to California for the funeral so please say a prayer of strength for her, she's wishing that she could be there with her family during this time of mourning and it's tough on her being so far away.

Again, thanks for all of the prayers and concern. We appreciate all of you thinking of us. Thanks for all the comment too, you know we love it when you guys comment!
Love to all!
