Zachary is five months old.

Here are some more pictures of Zachary that were taken this past week.

Zachary met even more family and friends last weekend. On Saturday, we went over to Uncle Glen and Aunt Sara's house and visited with their two daughters, Madeline and Lauren. We had a great time having dinner and just sitting around talking and playing with the kids. They have been keeping up with the blog and, like everyone else, they have been waiting anxiously to meet our little boy.

We also got to visit with our former neighbors, Suzy and Sarah. They have been taking care of our cats while Kim and Zachary were in the hospital. Speaking of the cats, they were finally able to come back home this weekend and meet Zachary too. They were a little unsure about him at first, but soon started to warm up to him being around, although I think that they are a little jealous because Zachary is the one getting all the attention around here instead of them.

Today Zachary went to see his cardiologist, Dr. Petit. Dr. Petit told us that his heart murmur is much quieter and that he was pleased with Zachary's progress. Zachary will go back to see Dr. Petit in six months for another follow-up.



While at Dr. Petit's office, Zachary got weighed. He is now 9 pounds, 15 ounces and measures 20 inches! That's our BIG boy! Can you believe that he's almost five months old and remember back when he was soooo tiny (back when he was just born), at only 1 pound, 14.5 ounces? We look at those early pictures and say our prayers of thanks.



Earlier this week Zachary went for a head ultrasound and the preliminary report shows that the blood has resolved and his head looks normal. Amen and thank goodness!



Next Friday Zachary will go see his pediatrician, Dr. Gray, and we'll get to hear the "official" results about his head and his heart. He's perfect, we just know this.

Also this weekend Zachary had his first playdate...this is Aubrey and her mommy, Jessica. Aubrey was born at 27 weeks too and is a month younger than Zachary. We met Jessica and her husband, Jimmy, in the NICU.

We weighed him on our home scale and he weighed 9 pounds, 2 ounces and measured 19.5 inches! He's growing so fast! We'll see what the doctor says when we see Dr. Gray next week.

For the record, the TV is on, just as the books suggest, for background noise. When he hears it, he looks for it. We aren't advocating his becoming a couch potato. He just will turn himself any which way to watch it. Too funny isn't it?

Grrrreat News!

Hi folks!

UPDATE: According to our scale at home,
our sweet boy is now 8 pounds 3.2 ounces!!
What a big boy!!

We hope that all of you had a fabulous weekend. We did, Zachary got to meet some friends of ours, Scott and Connica and their son Sebastian and he also got to meet some more family, Uncle Rusty, Aunt Lori, cousins JT, Robin and David and he got to meet cousins Shelby and Britney too although they kept their distance due to his immature immune system. Except for a quick run yesterday to check on the progress of our house, we spent the rest of the three day weekend relaxing at home and enjoyed being a family.

Today Dr. Gray called and told us that we can take Zachary off his diuretic. YAY! This means that he no longer has to have sodium and potassium added to his milk, double yay! She does want us to go back to adding rice cereal to his milk and give him some apple juice if he gets a big "plugged up." We are soooo excited about this news. If the cereal does what it is supposed to, his milk will be thicker so he will be less likely to spit up. He spits up about four out of six feedings and we feel so bad for the poor guy. While we enjoy him modeling all of his clothes, we'd prefer to change him for reasons other than his being soaked with milk.

Next up for Zachary is a follow up head ultrasound on the 16th a follow up Echo Cardiogram on the 18th (along with an appointment with his cardiologist) and then a visit with Dr. Gray on the 25th. Zachary has a busy month for visiting doctors!

Anyway, we have tons of pictures to take off the camera so look for those later this week. In the meantime, love to all!

New House

Remember back when Zachary first came home (and Kim's mom was in town) we went house hunting and shared that we bought a house? Well it is currently being built (we're supposed to be able to move into it in September) and every Sunday we drive by and check the progress. Here's what we found last Sunday. It's really coming along! We can't wait to have more room and a guest room for all of Zachary's visitors!

Hi folks!
Here are a couple of pictures of the Z-Man that we snapped yesterday and this morning. Not much is new, Zachary is doing well and Stephen went back to work part-time remodeling his mom's house. Granny, Grandpa David and Stephen take turns looking after Zachary while Stephen's at work. So far it seems to be working out! Zachary took another trip to Mommy's office to pick her up yesterday, he seems not to mind much where we take him. He's just a really easy-going baby! We are so blessed!
