Milestone Update

Again, our usual apologies for not posting as much as we'd like to. As you all know, being parents of a toddler consumes ALL of our time.

Here's a little milestone update for you. According to one website - a 21 month old should...

Most toddlers should be able to . . .
Start to learn up to 5 or more words per day - Easily!
Walk up stairs with some assistance - Without assistance!
Make structures out of toys or blocks - He loves to!

Some toddlers will probably be able to . . .
Start to learn up to 10 or more words per day - Oh yeah!
Show good signs of bladder control - Ha! Not yet. But we dream of this day...
Throw balls overhand - With both hands!
Open doors - As long as they aren't closed tight!

Some toddlers could possibly be able to . . .
Name people and pets when shown a picture - Easily!
Form short but complete and understandable sentences We aren't here yet, but he can string two words together if he really, really wants to.
Walk down stairs with some assistance - Yes he can!
Open and close doors - Close for sure!

Love to all!

A Tribute to Pops

Kim's Dad ("Pops") passed away very unexpectedly on 11/27/09.
We are mourning the loss of a man that was very important to many, especially to us.

A bit of Fatherly advice on a very special day.

Not losing a daughter ... but gaining a son-in-law.

Aveline and her Pop-Pops.

(Candid) Family picture time.

Zachary laying down with Pops.
Zachary playing with Pops.

Visiting Pops and Grandma Lynne in California.

The hat says it all.

Stephen and Pops ... cooking for the crowd on the 4th of July.
Pops and Grandma Lynne visiting us in Houston.
Pops and Grandma Lynne snuggling with our miracle.
16 pounds of brisket ... now that's what I'm talking about!
Pops was all about the brisket -
we even sent him one for his birthday this year.

All together now .... say "Food!"

Take care Pops .... You will definitely be missed around here .... now, and forever.
We love you, always.

Isn't he?
Zachary and a pumpkin just his size!

We had a difficult time teaching him that
pumpkins are not for throwing
(even though they bounce really well!)

A day at the farm - Dewberry Farm!

Hi Folks -

Be prepared...this post is FULL of pictures of our trip to Dewberry Farm last weekend. We met up with Brinson and her family and Noah and his family and a couple of friends from Mommy's work. It was really crowded because it was a beautiful fall day in Texas (and we don't have a lot of those) and because Good Morning America had just done a feature on the Farm, the day before. Although there were lots of people, we still managed to have lots and lots of fun!

The 3 Musketeers

Brinson clapping...YAY for Pumpkins!

a big heave-ho

Pumpkins are so fun to play with!

"Look what I found!"

The newest sport...pumpkin climbing!

"B" says- "What's with him?"

"B" says - "Now, what's with him...BOYS!"

Zachary really wasn't about the sitting still...

Zachary in the Big Easy

A couple of weekend ago we went to go visit some of Mommy's family in New Orleans, Louisiana. We stayed with Cousins Susan and Henry and visited with Cousin Robert and some friends of Susan and Henry. We had a great time. We took Zachary to the New Orleans Zoo which is awesome!! Henry had a great time...Zachary did too!

Family portrait time - Audubon Zoo.

Mommy pointing out the elephants...

...like Zachary could miss them!

Zachary was really tired from running around
so he didn't enjoy the carousel as much as usual.

But he enjoyed his nap more than usual!

All refreshed - we went to the hands-on
part of the zoo. Here's Zachary petting a guinea pig.

He LOVED the goats!

The animals were just his size!

He helped out around the zoo...
The next day is when we had awesome po'boys with the cousins and their friends.

Zachary suggled right up to
Robert and went to sleep.

It really looks like Zachary slept through the trip but he did not.
We just never get to see him still so we took lots of pictures of it!

Loving lunch time with Susan and Henry.
Thanks to Susan and Henry for letting us stay with you and for the night of babysitting! We love you and love to all!

Zachary loves the view!

Hi folks!

As all of you know, Mommy is a working mom. She's a paralegal for a lawfirm in downtown Houston - her office is on the 37th floor of one of the skyscrapers. Every once in awhile Daddy brings Zachary up so Mommy can show him off to her friends and co-workers. A couple of weeks ago Zachary came up for a visit and one of our friends, Seema, was sweet enough to take some pictures of him enjoying the sights.

Zachary is impressed by the view!

Zachary is a big fan of Seema's office.

And he's off!!

Everyone just loves when he comes to visit - especially Mommy!
Love to all!
